VITRUVIAN®

VITRUVIAN® is a medical device that enables safe standing and maintaining a standing position for people who are unable to do so on their own. It can be used for both rear and front standing, making it suitable for various stages of rehabilitation.

Modular frame with a wide range of adjustments
Allows for individual adjustment of settings to the user’s anatomical parameters and functional needs, ensuring safety and comfort during therapy.

Front and rear upright position
It allows for flexible rehabilitation—from more stable rear verticalization to more active front verticalization. This means that the product can be used at various stages of rehabilitation and adapted to the user’s condition.

Stabilization of the torso, pelvis, knees, feet and head
The system of pads, belts, and supports maintains the correct body position, preventing uncontrolled movements and increasing safety during standing.

Abduction of the lower limbs in the range of 0° – 50°
This function prevents contractures and deformities, protects against hip dislocations, allows stretching of the adductor muscles, and supports the correct alignment of the pelvis and spine.

Adjustable therapy table
It can be used to support the upper limbs, as well as a surface for manual exercises, learning, or play. Height, depth, and angle adjustment make it easy to adapt to the individual needs of the user.

Smooth adjustment of the frame angle
It enables gradual and safe introduction of the user to a standing position in both front and rear verticalization. This function allows you to control the intensity of therapy, improves comfort, normalizes muscle tone, and supports balance.

Mobile base with swivel castors and brakes
Ensures easy movement of the product and stable immobilization during therapy, which increases user safety and comfort.

VITRUVIAN® supports maintaining correct body posture and improves balance control. It reduces the risk of muscle contractures and joint deformities. It has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the circulatory, respiratory, and digestive systems and enables active participation in therapy, learning, and daily activities.

This is a medical device. Use it in accordance with the user manual or the label.

System UPRIGHT PRO

The device allows for both rear and front upright positioning, making it suitable for various stages of therapy and daily activities. This range provides the freedom to choose the setup form and allows the position to be adjusted to the user’s current needs.

Hip belt

The pads can be tilted, widened, and narrowed to fit the user’s body and positioning. This ensures that the torso receives support exactly where it’s needed.

3D knee pads

The table can be raised, adjusted in depth, and tilted.

Footrests

The knee pads can be adjusted in full range – depth, height, and width – and there is also an option to set leg abduction. This allows for very precise positioning of the lower body parts. Such a system increases positioning stability and provides comfort during extended use.

INDICATIONS

It is recommended in the following cases:

  • Cerebral palsy (CP) – various types and forms.
  • Brain and spinal cord injuries of various etiologies with limb paresis, severe balance disturbances, and coordination impairments.
  • Demyelinating diseases (multiple sclerosis – MS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis – ALS, and others).
  • Meningocele.
  • Muscle diseases with paresis and paralysis (including dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, polymyositis).
  • Genetic syndromes with limb paresis.
  • Degenerative and metabolic diseases of the nervous system.
  • Degenerative and rheumatic joint diseases.
  • Other diseases with limb paresis, paralysis, and musculoskeletal impairments.
  • After injuries, following traumatic brain injuries or spinal cord injuries with limb paresis and paralysis, particularly with quadriplegia (as part of the rehabilitation process or as permanent orthopedic support).

CONTRAINDICATIONS

During standing process, the person being stood must be observed. In case of side effects such as paleness, sweating, or fainting, joint overloading and resulting body deformations, the therapy should be stopped. Further steps should be consulted with a specialist doctor or physiotherapist who prescribed the aid.

Absolute contraindication to standing therapy is the critical condition of the user.

Relative contraindications to standing therapy:

  • resting arterial hypertension above 200/110 mmHg, pulmonary hypertension, heart rhythm disorders, unstable asthma, unstable metabolic disorders, moderate stage of heart valve disease.
  • Any condition, such as healing fracture or severe osteoporosis, that prevents weight-bearing in any way.
  • Fracture with incomplete healing, unless approved by a doctor.
  • Postoperative joint load restrictions.
  • Pain associated with standing in the stander (caused by dislocation or hip dislocation, excessive stretching of soft tissues, excessive pressure). Dislocation or dislocation of the hip joint without pain is not a contraindication.

People with significant flexion in the hip or knee joints, as well as with ankle joint contractures, may not be able to use the stander. Caution should be taken to ensure that the position in the device does not cause excessive pressure or stretching of the diseased areas of the body. In such cases, standing therapy may be contraindicated until a greater range of motion is achieved in the contracted joints.

For individuals with impaired circulatory system (resting arterial hypertension above 200/110 mmHg, pulmonary hypertension, heart rhythm disorders, moderate stage of heart valve disease); respiratory system (unstable asthma) and unstable metabolic disorders, close monitoring of the user during standing position is necessary to prevent serious complications. This includes particularly monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, and any symptoms of orthostatic hypertension.
